Durability
Weighing in at less than 36 pounds, the Sportcraft Playmaker Foosball table is not one of the heaviest tables on the market. However, it does not have to be, mainly because it has been designed with recreational usage in mind. That is not to say that it is not constructed to a high standard though, don’t worry about that.
Even the slightest incline in the foosball table that you are using can completely ruin the game. You are not going
to need to worry about that with the Sportcraft Playmaker Foosball table, however. The legs of the table are incredibly easy to adjust. Once they are adjusted, they stay in place too, even with the more aggressive play. This really is one of those tables that you can just ‘set up’ and leave.
The materials that the table has been constructed with are incredibly sturdy. The beautiful finish is scratch resistant, which is perfect, since the main intention of this table is for family recreational usage, and you really do not want children ruining that gorgeous exterior.
Gameplay
Despite being a smaller table than many people are used to, the Sportcraft Playmaker Foosball Table has been designed to make the transition to competitive play as smooth as possible.
Comfortable handgrips on the end of the player rods are fantastic to the touch, even after you have been playing foosball for a long time. The rods, and the players for that matter, flow smoothly too. This ensures fast action when you are in the midst of a game of foosball.
As mentioned previously, despite being a low price, the table is pretty sturdy. Even in the fastest-paced games, you will find that the table barely moves, which is perfect.
The markings on the table are exactly what you would find on a larger competitive table, albeit on a much smaller scale. Many people state that the players on the Sportcraft Foosball Table are pretty close to competition standard players too. This is why many people will start out on this table before they move on to the big-leads.
Perhaps the greatest difference between this table and a competition-standard table is the three-man goalie design.
This ensures fast and competitive play. Less players to control also ensures that the kids are able to get in on the action.
The sanded foosballs which come included with the table, four of them, are smooth and glide across the table with ease. If you ever lose them, you will almost certainly wish to replace pretty quickly.
Aesthetics
I have to admit, I’m not a huge fan of the tapered leg style. I’m not sure why, but I prefer the traditional design that most tables have. The cabinet looks a little bulky as well. The graphics give it an amateur feel. The men look like they’re made with quality. The surface, rods, goals, and scoreboard all look nice.
Who’s It For?
The small size of the table, coming in at 48 inches, means that it has been designed with younger players in mind. However, that is not to say that adults can’t play on this foosball table too. In fact, the small size makes it perfect for those who are looking for a solid and cheap foosball table to have in their home but do not have a lot of space to play around with.
Many people will start off with a table like the Sportcraft Playmaker Foosball table before moving onto something bigger. The rods and the players are pretty much the same as what you would find on a larger table, albeit on a smaller scale. This would make the transition a great deal easier. Many people may, therefore, find that this table is perfect for their requirements and their budget.
