Durability
The Shelti Foos 200 is a heavy-duty table, as it has a 1″ thick cabinet and weighs 215 lbs. It will hold up quite well long-term regardless of how aggressive play is. The hardened melamine exterior is chip & mar resistant. The tubular chrome steel rods are machine-trued, giving them added strength and resistance. The ABS constructed men are very strong, and underwent extensive computer testing in which ball speeds were over 100 mph.
This is the kind of table that intermediate players would enjoy. They can play as hard as they want to without having to be concerned about damage being done to the table or rods.
Gameplay
The counterbalanced men allow for the game to flow more freely, as they can be kept horizontal while shooting. That way, your shots don’t get blocked by your own players. It’s a feature not commonly seen, even among more expensive tables.
This heavy, thick table provides a lot of stability even when play becomes fast and furious. As an intermediate player, this is what you want. The leg levelers allow the table to be adjusted up to 1″ so the playing surface can be level, even when the floor isn’t.
The nylon bushings are naturally lubricated, providing longevity and smooth rod functioning, allowing players to play as fast as they want to.
The men have angled feet and an 880-tooth grip to give players optimal ball control and capture of the ball. The sharp edge of the foot allows for controlled bank shots. The Stay-In-Play Field Trim surrounds the field to keep the ball continuously in play.
The ball returns are only the ends instead of the sides. Not a big deal – but, the ball return is easier to access from the sides.
This table is built for intermediate play – anyone who wants to play fast and at a higher level.
Aesthetics
The Shelti Foos 200 has a traditional style, Mahogany exterior. It’s a simple, straightforward table. Nothing flashy. The cabinet is cherry, the legs are black, and the surface is green with red and black players. Most tables have a similar appearance.
Who's It For?
The Shelti 200 is built with intermediate players in mind, though it’s really for anyone who just wants a high quality table. It’s heavy, and has features that experienced players like to have. It’s the kind of table you buy if you really want one that is built to last.
It’s just as good of a table on paper as the Tornado Sport, and it costs less. It weighs 50 lbs more than the Garlando G-500, and it’s less than $100 more. For the money, you probably won’t find a better table.
